In the hours before Hurricane Milton hit, forecasters worried it could send as much as 15 feet of water rushing onto the heavily populated shores of Florida’s Tampa Bay
The system tracked to the south in the final hours and made landfall late Wednesday as a Category 3 storm in Siesta Key, about 70 miles (112 kilometers) south of Tampa.
Hurricanes, also called tropical cyclones, are tropical storms that initially form over tropical or subtropical waters.
As Hurricane Milton made landfall on Wednesday, battering the state of Florida, Pro-Palestinian users took to social media, some drawing a parallel between the devastation caused by the hurricane and the wreckage in Gaza, others going so far as to directly blame Israel and Jewish people for causing the storm.
