If that hits, we've got people, lots of people now, in temporary shelters, makeshift camps out on the streets, and that's going to be a real problem,
I've heard that in the next day or two there are rains [expected],
Cholera remains a particular concern for all of us,
In these tents, patients with fractures, wounds, and shock are being stabilized. They are functioning as mobile health clinics — delivering care where there are no longer walls,
This signal suggests that someone is there, offering hope,
People passing by on the road have generously donated water and food to us. We rely solely on their kindness,
It may be weeks before we understand the full extent of destruction caused by this earthquake as communication network lines are down and transport is disrupted,
The search for survivors continues but we are changing tactics,
Soldiers are everywhere in the town,
Many people are still living outside in poor conditions,
People urgently require medical care, clean drinking water, tents, food, and other basic necessities,
Funds are urgently needed to help families access life-saving humanitarian aid following this catastrophe,
Rain is incoming and there are still so many buried,
It would require very deft and active diplomacy to transform a humanitarian pause into something more lasting. And that’s not guaranteed,
People affected continue to need urgent healthcare and medical supplies, safe drinking water, food and other critical items,
